Sole Mate
I asked my wife if I could wash her feet. She said sure, and until my hands touched her feet, it was a normal act of kindness. Something happened, when my hands wash her feet though; it's humbling for both parties. There's a connection, where you feel the heart behind the act, and you are grateful as you feel dignified.
She loved it and washed my feet. Likewise, until she washed my feet, it was a nice normal act of thoughtfulness coming my way. Then as she washed my feet, I felt an overwhelming sense of warmth.
Neither of us spoke, and yet we each felt heard.
